In 2021 I started a new job as a Liaison Engineer at Sierra Space working on the new Dream Chaser Cargo Space plane. So far it has been a blast! Pun intended. Due to the small size of the company, I have also had the opportunity to take a lot of photos and pictures at the company. The timelapse shots in this video come from 3 Canon RP's that I manage on the floor. The close up shots of moving the ship to testing and most of the testing shots we taken from the liaison team as I was out of town. The entire video was edited by myself.

To celebrate the upcoming 15th Anniversary of the Intercollegiate Rocket Engineering Competition (IREC) Little Blue Pro put this video together. Over 12,000 students in 15 years have participated in this event and it looks to be an amazing event this summer. LBP will be out there helping with live streaming the event. Last weekend we drove to the Lake Hughes fire to take some pictures. Afterwards we drove to Fox Airfield to watch the same helicopters land. Thoughts and prayers to the families effected by the fires. So sad that something so dangerous can be so beautiful at the same time. Click here to see more pictures.
On January 6th, I stayed up late and drove to Cocoa Beach for the Space Coast's first rocket launch of the new decade! I planned to use the Cocoa Beach Pier as nice foreground for the shot, so I parked just south of the pier and walked along the beach to the north as I was adjusting to find the best viewing location. I was set up and ready to go with the shot framed about 10 min ahead of time while I was glued to the phone watching details of the launch from Space Flight Now's live feed. Unfortunately though, when the engines started to light and I turned on the shutter, I quickly noticed that I had missed the shot! As sometimes happens with rocket launches, the exact rocket angle trajectory is not always known to the general public ahead of time. The glow coming from the rocket was very much outside the frame. I quickly re-positioned the tripod in a split second and barely looked at the screen before backing up and turning the shutter on. Since I didn't get a good look at the screen I spent the next 260 seconds pretty much convinced I missed the shot. But it actually turned out better than I could have imagined. Here is the teaser video for the 2019 Spaceport America Cup and 14th Intercollegiate Rocket Engineering Competition. There will be more video coming!
Little Blue Productions attended our first comic book convention at the 2019 WonderCon in CA. We met a lot of wonderful people all having a blast and sharing costume trips and exchanging nerd talk. One of the nicest groups of people I have seen at any major event. It was an awesome trip and I see more conventions in the future!
This was my first time to Star Wars Canyon, and hopefully not my last. I had a blast, and cannot wait to go back again!!!! We saw 2 F-35s, Several F-18s, a C-17, and an F-16 fly through the canyon and the GE flying test bed doing circles high in the sky.
Visited the Channel Islands off the coast of CA. It was a pretty rocky sea, but worth it for the pictures. Lots of great stories and history here.
If you had visited my website in the past few years, you may have noticed I didn't update it often. Well that was partly because I didn't have much time, but mostly because I was using WordPress and was never good at updating that. Well now we have moved to Weebly.
Also, my New Year's resolution is to catch up on old projects and to start making some of the projects I have been wanting to do. So hopefully you will see my website grow this year. I purchased a new macro lens, the Canon 100mm f2.6, and had fun taking pictures of my parents Sea Glass. They spent the previous summer picking up sea glass off the beaches in Nome. For the pictures with black backgrounds, I set the glass directly on top of my light, the Lume Cube. The massive amount of light traveling through the glass forces a very short shutter speed with larger apertures. This causes the background to not be visible. Got the opportunity to fly to Nome Alaska to visit my parent's new home. Unfortunately most of the days had heavy overcast, but the couple days that the sun came out, I was driving around Nome in -20F weather getting some great pictures. Had a friend come visit California with me. We started in LA and then went to look where the California fires had just burned through. In June 2017, ESRA and Spaceport America held the 1st Annual Spaceport America Cup. Over 1000 students, from 12 countries brought 92 rockets to the event. Working this event and working with the students is always a blast. Pun intended. This was the first year we ran the event out of Spaceport America and I can't wait for next year! Since i started volunteering with this event in 2013, it was always my dream that GoPro would notice us and feature us in one of their GoPro launch videos. And in 2017, I got my wish! GoPro flew in two of their media people with dozens of GoPros, including their unreleased GoPro Hero 6! I can say that now since it has been released. I edited this entire video with only GoPro footage from the ESRA team, GoPro media, and myself. * This write up was post dated to match the date of the event not the date I wrote the post.
The Experimental Sounding Rocket Association and the Spaceport America Crew will host and support the world’s largest University rocket engineering competition on the vertical and horizontal launch campuses at Spaceport America on June 22-24, 2017. To pump up the students, staff and community I made this promo video with video clips from many of the past IREC events. Please enjoy and get ready for the 1st Spaceport America Cup! Congratulations to the roughly 500 students and faculty who participated in the 10th Intercollegiate Rocket Engineering Competition. You all helped us make this year’s competition not only the largest and most successful IREC yet, but also the largest collegiate rocket engineering competition in the world today! Altogether, this year’s event saw the launch of 41 rockets, built by students from 7 countries, spanning 6 continents! Stay tuned as we post more highlights from this most fitting 10th Anniversary of the IREC, and join us as we prepare for the next decade of inspirational learning!
This is the video of the 2015 Hanover High School Graduation. It is one of those projects of mine that fell through the cracks and was never edited until 2021. I apologize to the students and family, but sometime my day job really dominates my life. To make up for it, it is free to stream on YouTube, and there will be no DVD sales. I met the Marshall family though work and volunteering with the BEST Robotic competition. They are a wonderful family with a HUGE Christmas spirit. I lent them my GoPro for them to do timelapses of them setting up their "modest" Christmas light display. Theay are also a family of photographers but don't do much video. They were very surprised at how this video turned out as they were taking sneak peaks at the raw footage from the GoPro not realizing how much you can edit the footage in the time-lapse. Just finished putting together some video and pictures I took while we installed the flaps on Doc. Hope you enjoy!! Please visit B-29Doc.com for more information on their restoration effort!! Finished the the highlight video for the Wildcat Tumbler’s Recital DVD. Please enjoy and share with your friends!!! If you would like to order copies of the Recital, please contact me. They are $25 for the Blu-Ray/DVD combo Package.
Celebrate Landolls 50th Anniversary by reliving their “Celebrate 50” Firework show!!! Featuring many songs from the ages, this show is sure to bring back memories as well as amaze the viewer with some of the best fireworks in the region!!! Unfortunately no video can ever do PFB Pyros the justice they deserve, so please stop by Hanover next June for their yearly firework show. I promise you will be astonished at how great their show is up close!
Unfortunately it took me a while to track down the senior video, but right when I almost gave up I got a copy of it to add to the LBP Graduation DVDs. Sorry for the abnormally long wait, but if you ordered a DVD/Blu-Ray package, they should be in the mail to you ar the highschool in the next couple days. In the mean time, please enjoy this teaser video. Another great New Year’s firework show by PFB Pyros!!! Congrats to the PFB Pyros on another show!!!! This years theme was Crazy Train and featured a head-on train collision just before the grand finale. Please enjoy the video, because a video is worth more than words! |
